Yurts for sale | Nomadnessyurts's Blog
Handmade 16ft(4.8m) Yurt.
Constructed from the finest seasoned hardwood and covered in heavy duty canvas. Unique, unrivalled quality product.
Hello and welcome to this auction for a unique yurt that was made in our workshop in Farnham around six months ago. It is not brand new but is offered in very good condition.
This yurt is our ex-demo yurt. It is a truly remarkable structure constructed of Ash hardwood and locally sourced coppice hazel roof rods. It is not to be confused with the Mongolian imports found on ebay.
The wall sections are fully treated, sawn, planed and oiled Ash lathes held together with rust proof stainless steel nuts and bolts (see the picture for how they fold down into neat sections and stack away when not in use). The door frame and crown are also both hardwood (Ash) and have been varnished using the highest grade international yacht varnish. The crown has to be seen to appreciate it’s beauty, it is not steam bent but made from hardwood sections resined, pegged, glued and screwed to give a solid center which provides the weight to keep the yurt round and tight (no risk of sagging).
The cover is sewn in 18oz rot proofed, waterproofed, fire retardent canvas. All seams are “french seams” and allow the water to be shed over the seam not into it. The thread used is a poly cotton rot proof high strength thread.
This sounds like a fantastic opportunity, be a shame to miss it. Click through and give them a buzz.

Yurt living - mould prevention
Yurt Mold Fear Solutions
No doubt about it, the best mold prevention anywhere on anything is air flow and sunshine. Actually yurts have less mold issues than most conventional buildings. Yet it is a frequent question with legitimate fear of health issues that can derive from mold. So, Yurts of Hawaii addresses mold on the FAQ page. The photos are compliments of Blue Ridge Yurts in Virginia that illustrate landscape and forest with the above mold-prevention guidelines.
